KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES & COMPETENCIES

Read and speak English proficiently and interact with guests, associates and outside vendors.

Basic use of computer and phone apps.

Proficient with hand and power tools (hammers, saws, drills, wrenches), measuring instruments, and electrical/electronic testing devices.

Knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.

Ability to diagnose mechanical issues using blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs.

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Understand and follow safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and company guidelines and standards.

Write routine reports and correspondence.

Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Use units of measurement for weight, volume and distance.

Apply good judgment at all times.

Assist with resolving guest issues in accordance with company policies.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

1 year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Candidates must have some experience in hotel, apartment, or real estate maintenance.

Clean driving record and ownership of a reliable vehicle.

Bilingual (English/Spanish).

Non-smoker.

Job Description

POSITION PURPOSE AND SUMMARY

This position involves maintaining and repairing the interior, exterior, equipment, and grounds to ensure high-quality standards. The Maintenance Technician position must demonstrate and promote a strong commitment to providing the best possible experience for our guests and associates. The position is responsible for ensuring that all property equipment is functioning, premises are maintained in a pristine condition, and that all guest rooms are in good repair.

Perform preventative maintenance and complete work orders to maintain hotel quality.

Inspect and repair PTAC units, kitchen appliances, furniture, and fixtures in rooms, kitchens, and bathrooms.

Replace or repair light bulbs, lighting fixtures, televisions, and other systems.

Conduct repairs or replacements, including painting, vinyl flooring, carpet, concrete, ceilings, drywall, microwaves, sinks, refrigerators, stovetops, and room furniture.

Assist with room preparation, cleaning, and occasional housekeeping duties as needed.

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

Regularly required to remain stationary, be mobile, navigate the hotel, handle, reach, and detect objects, tools, or controls, and detect scent and detect sounds.

Position self to access low areas, traverse heights and remain stable while doing so, balance, and the ability to bend, kneel, or crouch.

Occasionally push/pull objects (tools/carts/cleaning equipment) weighing up to 50 pounds.

Discern or detect items in guest rooms to ensure safe performance of work.

Frequently work in outside weather conditions.

Occasionally work in wet humid conditions (non-weather related), near moving mechanical parts, in the presence of fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock.

Typically, moderate to loud noise levels in the work environment.

The associate may be asked to travel to pick up supplies within a reasonable geography.

Monday to Friday 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM (1-hour lunch break).

Saturday and Sunday No Call
