Southern Steer Butcher in Ocoee, FL is looking for an experienced Meat Cutter to join our butchering team. The individual will also possess exceptional customer service skills and food prep experience. We are located at 11024 W Colonial Ste 20. Our ideal candidate is attentive to customers, motivated to get work done, engaging, and is a team player. Our hours of business are 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM Monday - Saturday and 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM on Sunday
Responsibilities include
- Providing prompt, friendly, and excellent customer service with a smile
- Engaging our customers to learn their wants and needs to create their perfect grill and meal experience
- Maintaining a neat, well-groomed personal appearance at all times and observe dress regulations including approved hat or headgear
- Utilizing various knives and cutting tools to accurately cut and trim meat products according to specifications and customer orders
- Grinding meats and sausage preparation
- Replenishing, maintaining, and rotating products in the display cases
- Maintains a clean and organized work area including equipment, adhering to strict food safety and sanitation standards
- Inspecting meat and prepare products for quality and freshness
- Accepting deliveries and placing product into stock following the appropriate refrigeration guidelines
- Preparing food items (no cooking)
- Performing opening tasks
- Keeping the merchandise stocked and fronted
- Keeping current about our products and weekly specials
- Being professional
- Performing general housekeeping and closing duties
- Flexible when needed to work more hours and different shifts
Qualifications
- A passion to provide extraordinary service
- 2 or more years of meat cutting experience
- 2 or more years in the food industry or kitchen work
- Knowledgeable about various cuts of meat and proper cooking techniques
- Ability to lift up to 80 pounds (normally between 40-50 pounds)
- Ability to stand for up to 8 hours
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 18 years of age
