Responsibilities:
- Experience in sheetrock, carpentry, cabinet installation, and remodeling is a must.
- Must be able to install carpet and all types of tile. Little to no supervision needed.
- Reads work orders or receive instructions from supervisor regarding painting.
- Smooths surfaces, using sandpaper, brushes, or steel wool and removes old paint from surfaces, using paint remover, scraper, and wire brush to prepare surfaces for painting.
- Fill nail holes, cracks, and joints with caulk, putty, or other filler using a caulking gun and putty knife.
- Removes fixtures, such as electrical switch covers from walls before painting using a screwdriver.
- Spread drop clothes over floors and room furnishings and cover surfaces, such as baseboards, door frames, and windows with masking tape and paper to protect surfaces during painting.
- Paint surfaces using brushes, spray guns, or paint rollers.
- Erect scaffolding or set up ladders to perform tasks above ground level.
