The Maintenance/Transportation Tech is responsible for the upkeep of our day center, group homes and vehicles. Duties include evaluating and completing repairs, i.e. painting, appliances, backsplashes, vanities, toilets, etc. Maintaining plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and HVAC systems. Maintaining fire, carbon monoxide, smoke, and other safety systems within all facilities. Taking vehicles in for routine maintenance and repairs. Receives and responds to reports of mechanical or maintenance issues after hours on rare occasions.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB: Prolonged periods standing, driving, and walking. Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent, with two years of maintenance related experience. Will except four years of maintenance related experience in lieu of education requirement. Prefer electrical/mechanical experience with an ability to perform duties with minimal supervision. Must have the ability to verbally communicate, read, write, and interpret documents and instructions in English. Must have and maintain a clean valid driver’s license. This is a non-exempt position.
