Job Division: Field Operations

Reports to: Supervisor

Purpose:

Guard, patrol, or monitor premises to prevent theft, violence, or infractions of rules. Observe and report any instances of unusual circumstances.

Min. Education:

High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)

Completion or ability to pass Florida 40-hour Professional Security Officer Course

No prior experience necessary

Certificates and Licenses:

Florida Class “D” Guard License

Florida Class "G" Armed Guard License

First Aid, CPR, and AED Certification

Valid Driver’s License

 Basic Computer skills; Microsoft Word and Excel

 Telephone and 2-way radio

Essential Responsibilities and Tasks:

 Answer alarms and investigate disturbances.

 Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to

guard against theft and maintain security of premises.

 Write reports of daily activities and irregularities such as equipment or property damage,

theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.

 Call police or fire departments in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of

unauthorized persons.

 Circulate among visitors, patrons, or employees to preserve order and protect property.

Activities:

 Monitor alarm system to detect fires or other emergencies

 Monitor entrance or exit of persons

 Patrol or guard area or premises

 Recognize public safety hazards

 Authorize entry or exit of individuals

 Apply appropriate physical restraint

 Abide by and enforce all company and client rules and regulations

 Spend Time Making Repetitive Motions

 Spend Time Standing

 Able to lift/move 35 pounds

Non-Essential Responsibilities:

 Escort guests or employees as needed

 Administer First Aid, CPR and operate AED equipment

 Perform other reasonable duties as requested by chain of command
