Job Description: We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Full Stack Developer (contractor) with a strong backend focus to join our team. This position will be out of an office in Sorrento, FL with the Lead Developer. You will play a critical role in building and maintaining software systems for affiliate-based companies and contributing to the development of products like RUBI. Your primary responsibility will be backend development using Laravel and PostgreSQL. Strong communication skills are essential for collaboration with both U.S.-based stakeholders and our offshore team.
Responsibilities:
Contribute to backend development for software systems and AI-integrated products using Laravel.
Write and optimize complex Postgres functions, design and manage database schemas, and execute advanced queries using PostgreSQL.
Work closely with offshore developers and contribute to improving team processes, including standups, backlog grooming, and sprint planning.
Collaborate on frontend development using Vue.js and Nuxt.js when necessary.
Utilize Docker for local development and production deployment.
Troubleshoot and optimize system performance to ensure scalability and efficiency.
Communicate effectively with the U.S.-based team to ensure alignment on project goals.
Requirements:
5+ years of full stack development experience with a focus on backend systems.
Strong experience with PostgreSQL, including designing schemas, managing databases, optimizing queries, and writing Postgres functions.
Extensive experience with Laravel for backend development.
Experience with Vue.js and Nuxt.js for frontend development.
Expertise in Docker for containerized application development and deployment.
Basic understanding of a Unix-based command line environment.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced remote work environment.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work closely with offshore and U.S.-based teams.
Must be U.S.-based and able to commute to the Sorrento area in Lake County 3 days a week.
Nice to Have:
Experience with AWS, DevOps, and Kubernetes.
Experience with AI integration and products like RUBI or similar.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
Salary:
Competitive salary ranging from $80k to $100k, depending on experience.
