Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Trailer Chassis Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in vehicle maintenance and repair, particularly with trailer chassis systems. This role requires hands-on experience with power tools, the ability to fabricate components if necessary, test and fix lighting and air systems, and tire replacement. The Trailer Chassis Mechanic will be responsible for ensuring the safety and functionality of trailer chassis through thorough inspection, maintenance, and repair.
Duties
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on trailer chassis, including alignment, assembly, and fabrication of parts.
Utilize power tools and equipment to execute repairs efficiently and safely.
Conduct inspections to identify issues with critical components.
Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects while adhering to safety standards.
Operate third party apps including explaining work and uploading pictures.
Maintain accurate records of all repairs and maintenance performed on vehicles.
Assist in heavy lifting tasks as required during the repair process.
Perform Federal Inspections
Operate independently, scheduling jobs and maintaining the parts and tools on their truck.
Requirements
Proven experience as a mechanic with a focus chassis/trailer maintenance and repair.
Proficiency in using power tools and equipment safely and effectively.
Ability to align, fabricate, and assemble various components of trailer chassis systems.
Basic welding skills.
Capability to perform heavy lifting tasks as needed.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
