The Resort Kitchen and Laundry Technician, plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of both commercial kitchen and laundry facilities within our resort. The primary responsibility will be to maintain and repair kitchen equipment/appliances and laundry machinery/appliances to uphold safety standards and ensure uninterrupted service to guests and staff. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, technical proficiency, and a dedication to maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and functionality in our resort's key operational areas. This position will also work with the Warehouse Supervisor in order to supply accurate stockroom inventory to assist them in maintaining adequate levels of the tools and supplies needed to perform their tasks.Sign on bonus of $2,500
Key Responsibilities:
Greet all guests and fellow Team Members as you see them. Speak politely and assist them as needed, making sure to answer all questions and providing appropriate directions. Respond in a courteous manner to all questions, complaints, and/or requests to ensure complete satisfaction.
Perform regular maintenance and repairs on commercial kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, refrigerators, and dishwashers to ensure optimal performance.
Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with commercial laundry machinery including washers, dryers, and folding machines, and execute necessary repairs promptly.
Conduct routine inspections of commercial kitchen and laundry facilities to identify any potential hazards or malfunctions and address them in a timely manner. Complete all maintenance tasks in a reasonable time while adhering to all applicable trade standards and codes.
Collaborate with other departments to coordinate maintenance schedules and minimize disruptions to daily operations.
Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment inventory, and repair history.
Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to maintain a secure working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
Gather and organize necessary supplies, tools, and equipment daily to perform tasks.
Identifies problems, initiates work orders, accomplishes assigned work orders, and completes all repairs.
Performs preventative maintenance and maintains logs in an organized manner.
Operates with the property maintenance software program and properly updates essential information via the use of a smart device.
Completes inspections and checklists and corrects noted problems.
Develops and maintains required parts list for each piece of equipment.
Works with managers in coordinating and scheduling maintenance programs in various areas of the resort.
Responsible for correct use of fire extinguishers and/or other life safety systems.
Operates a motor vehicle with a standard or automatic transmission on private and public roadways.
The use of proper personal protective equipment.
Keep storage area clean, organized and stocked.
Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures.
Report maintenance defects to Manager.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education, Skills and Experience:
High school diploma, GED or suitable equivalent required.
Valid Florida Driver’s License with acceptable driving record required.
Must be able to read, write, speak, and comprehend English.
1 year Vocational or technical training relating to kitchen and laundry equipment (LP, Natural Gas, and Electric) required.
Experience in a similar job/role, hospitality industry is preferred.
Ability to use hand and power tools.
Ability to use and understand smartphone applications.
Attention to detail.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as part of a team.
Capable of performing role in a busy work environment
Capable of working scheduled hours, including weekdays, weekends, nights, and holidays
Complete all maintenance tasks in a reasonable time while adhering to all applicable trade standards and codes.
Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics required.
