Nexus Lane LLC, a full-service truck and trailer repair shop in Longwood, FL, is seeking a highly skilled and certified truck mechanic to join our team. While we specialize in both truck and trailer services, this role focuses on heavy-duty truck diagnostics, maintenance, and repair for a fleet that primarily includes Freightliner, Volvo, and PACCAR (Kenworth and Peterbilt) vehicles.
Key Responsibilities
Comprehensive Diagnostics and Repairs: Diagnose and repair heavy duty truck systems, including engines, transmissions, drivetrains, and fuel systems.
Electrical Systems: Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, wiring harnesses, sensors, electronic control units (ECUs), and lighting.
Preventive Maintenance (PM): Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure the safety and reliability of vehicles.
Suspension and Brake Systems: Inspect, repair, and replace air and spring suspension components, as well as air and hydraulic brake systems.
After treatment Systems: Diagnose and maintain diesel after treatment systems (DPF, DEF, and SCR).
Cooling and HVAC Systems: Repair and maintain cooling systems, radiators, and air conditioning systems such as Thermo king and Carrier cooling systems.
Road Tests and Inspections: Conduct road tests and post repair inspections to ensure vehicles are safe and operational.
Safety and Compliance: Ensure all work meets DOT standards and safety regulations.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate service records and ensure proper documentation of repairs for reporting and future invoicing.
Qualifications
Certification: ASE certification or equivalent required; additional OEM certifications (Freightliner, Volvo, PACCAR) are a strong advantage.
Experience: Minimum of 3 to 10 years of hands on experience in heavy duty truck repair and maintenance.
Technical Expertise: Proficiency in using diagnostic software and tools for troubleshooting.
Physical Fitness: Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various conditions, including under vehicles and in tight spaces.
Problem Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
Attention to Detail: Commitment to delivering high quality work with precision and accuracy.
