A locally owned and operated business that rebuilds transmissions for commercial fleets of vehicles is searching for a skilled, dependable and experienced Diesel Mechanic to remove, replace and rebuild transmissions. The company has existing service agreements with transportation companies, municipalities and heavy equipment vehicles and is extremely busy. The position is Monday - Friday, with occasional overtime. The facility is looking for long term employees who are looking for a place to call home.
Duties will consist of the following:
Remove transmissions from vehicles
Disassemble, inspect, and rebuild transmissions
Use power tools and hand tools to perform repairs
Test transmissions using standard testing equipment
Troubleshoot and diagnose transmission issues
Ensure all rebuilt transmissions meet quality standards
Qualified candidates should have the following characteristics or experiences:
A stable job history
A full set of tools
Previous experience working with diesel engines and fleet vehicles
Working knowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems and methods
A valid driver's license
