Apply Today!POSITION SUMMARY: The Phlebotomist is an individual who possesses a working comprehension of the technical and procedural aspects of drawing blood. The proper collection of laboratory specimens is essential in aiding clinical practitioners in confirming or ruling out diagnoses, monitoring chronic disease states, and analyzing the effects of medical therapies.QUALIFICATIONS: To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential core function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, experience, and ability necessary to achieve this role.ESSENTIAL CORE FUNCTIONS:1. Maintains strict safety and infection control techniques at all times.2. Practices, develops and endorses customer service skills in relationships with internal and external customers.3. Participate in Quality Improvement activities as assigned.4. Actively seeks ways to control costs without compromising patient safety, quality of care or the services delivered.5. Follows established guidelines for reporting a significant medical error or unanticipated outcome in the patient’s care which result in patient harm. Uses occurrence reporting system to report potential patient safety issues.6. Demonstrates knowledge of Laboratory Information System.7. Completes all mandatory education requirements.8. Uses Performance Improvement Plan to improve patient safety.9. Regular, punctual and dependable attendance.10. Other duties as assigned.What qualifications you will need:
High School Graduate / GED
Phlebotomy Certification preferred
1-3 years of experience preferred
