Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Equipment Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operating heavy machinery and be able to work in a fast-paced environment. The role involves operating a variety of equipment such as dump trucks, loaders, and bulldozers, as well as performing routine maintenance tasks.
Duties:
- Operate heavy equipment such as dump trucks, loaders, and bulldozers to move materials and complete tasks efficiently.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Load and unload materials from roll-off trucks.
- Use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and repair equipment when necessary.
- Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment to identify potential issues.
- Follow all safety protocols when operating heavy equipment.
- Drive commercial vehicles to transport equipment and materials to and from job sites.
- Collaborate with other team members to complete projects on time and within budget.
Experience (not required but would enhance your candidacy):
- Proven experience in operating heavy equipment such as dump trucks, loaders, and bulldozers.
- Strong mechanical knowledge and ability to perform routine maintenance tasks.
- Commercial driving experience is an asset.
- Ability to work in a team environment and take direction from supervisors.
- A clean and valid driver's license is required.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
