Our benefits include health, dental, vision, life insurance, as well as 401(k) plan and paid time off.We are seeking a motivated and dependable Junior or Mid-level Mechanical Engineer to work closely with Senior Engineers in the support of government contracts across multiple applications. Our mechanical engineers assist with the design, build, and testing of U.S. Naval systems and subsystems. The ideal candidate will be able to adapt to ongoing efforts within the project and immediately make significant contributions in areas such as: thermal analysis, shock and vibration analysis, component layout, 3-D modeling, finite element analysis, and similar support. Junior/Mid-level Engineers may also be involved with collecting and analyzing engineering data, creating and maintaining databases, preparing engineering data and materials to support briefings, and generating reports and associated documents for U.S. Navy programs. This position requires independent thinking, creativity, diligence, and a strong grasp of engineering fundamentals. This position requires a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.Highlights of Responsibilities:
Applies engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan, design, test or evaluate U.S. Navy systems.
Participate in customer meetings to assist with mechanical/electrical specifications and drawing review.
Provide updates to drawing files using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
Assist in designing, engineering, and building mechanical systems.
Reviews and prepares engineering and technical analysis, reports, change proposals, and other engineering documentation.
Proficient in the use of automated design systems and tools, including SolidWorks.
Provide input to engineering and technical assessments.Required Education, Training and Experience:
Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering
Experience with SolidWorks and AutoCAD
Experience with Microsoft suite of tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook)
Eligible to obtain and maintain a Security clearanceDesired Qualifications:
Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills that support leadership, management, negotiation, and problem-solving functions of this role.
Excellent judgment and discretion; ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously, meet deadlines, and handle work-related stress.

Problem solving skills using demonstrated data analysis and statistical interpretation.
Ability to read engineering drawings and general knowledge of equipment and design process.Travel:
Limited travel; less than 10% is currently expected in this position.Working Conditions/Environment:
Work will be conducted at IPS, with some work taking place at the customer (NSWC PCD).
