Overview Network Engineer (Enterprise Data Center/ACI/APIC) with extensive hands-on experience with Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI) engineering principles and SAN. Architect solutions and provide technical direction and engineering support for projects and infrastructure. Research, evaluate, design, implement, and maintain system and product solutions, applying knowledge of ACI. Provide technical direction and engineering support for projects and infrastructure. Plan, test, and implement upgrades, using the Cisco Application Policy Infrastructure Controller (APIC)
Automate and perform daily operational duties supporting the Data Center Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI)
Expand and maintain the networking environment as necessary by establishing system configurations, directing system installation, and defining, documenting and enforcing system standards
Establish configuration standards, as well as configure routing, and switching equipment
Maximize network performance, troubleshoot network problems and outages, schedule upgrades and collaborate with other network architects on network optimization
Establish and lead project teams
Develop engineering project plan, scope, schedule, cost, and communications
Ensure successful project implementation
Provide input and make budgetary recommendations regarding staffing and equipment
Apply engineering principles to the design and enhancement of new and existing systems
Document new system components, or modifications to existing components
Ensure the security and integrity of system and product solutions including compliance with Navy Federal, industry engineering and Information Security principles and practices
Perform engineering tasks and assignments in support of business needs
Perform engineering technology research, procurement, deployment, and configuration for new and modified systems
Present clear, organized and concise information to all audiences through a variety of media to enable effective business decisions
Lead, guide and mentor less experienced staff
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Working knowledge of engineering discipline
Advanced database and presentation software skills
Advanced research, analytical, and problem solving skills
Advanced verbal and written communication skills
Advanced word processing and spreadsheet software skills
Effective organizational, planning and time management skills
Effective skill exercising initiative and using good judgment to make sound decisions
Effective skill guiding and training less experienced staff
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Information Technology or the equivalent combination of certification, training, education, and experience
