Job Description:
As an Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for various residential and commercial construction projects. You will work closely with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure that all estimates are detailed, competitive, and reflective of the project requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed cost estimates for residential and commercial construction projects.
Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation.
Collaborate with architects, engineers, clients, and contractors to gather all necessary information.
Identify and quantify all cost factors, such as labor, materials, and time requirements.
Maintain and update a database of historical costs and unit prices.
Prepare and present bid proposals to clients.
Monitor and update estimates as project conditions change.
Review and compare subcontractor and supplier quotes.
Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 1 year of experience as an estimator in the construction industry.
Proven experience in both residential and commercial projects.
Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and costs.
Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (preferred but not required).
