POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a highly skilled Master Carpenter/Lead Installer to join our growing specialty window and door installation business. This role is ideal for a seasoned Foreman, Superintendent, or Lead Installer with extensive experience in managing complex installations and framing scenarios. As the technical expert, you will lead challenging installation projects, including cutting out walls for large door installations, framing openings, and resolving unique on-site issues. Additionally, you will act as a consultant to the sales team, providing precise measurements and installation planning expertise.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Expert Installation: Lead the installation of custom and replacement windows and doors, handling various materials and challenging scenarios such as stucco, brick, and vinyl siding applications.
- Installation Lead: Manage and mentor on-site crews, maintaining adherence to safety standards, high-quality craftsmanship, and project timelines.
- Subject Matter Expert: Oversee and execute framing for large openings, including removing walls for big doors, installing headers, and ensuring structural integrity per engineering and specification requirements.
- Technical Measuring: Perform detailed and accurate measurements to ensure precise fits and proper installation planning during the sales process.
- Problem Solving: Address and resolve on-site challenges such as out-of-square rough openings, warped frames, or structural irregularities.
- Collaboration: Consult with the sales team to assess job feasibility, provide technical input, and advise on installation methods tailored to each customer’s needs.
- Compliance: Ensure all work complies with local building codes, manufacturer specifications, and company standards.
- Project Oversight: Coordinate with project managers, general contractors, engineers and other stakeholders as needed for large-scale or custom installations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proven experience as a Foreman, Superintendent, or Lead Installer specializing in windows, doors, and framing.
- Advanced knowledge of window and door installation techniques
- Expertise in construction methods, installation techniques, and materials for various exterior siding applications.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to adapt to complex site conditions.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, engineering specifications, and technical manuals.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills to effectively manage teams and collaborate with sales and project personnel.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Certifications such as AAMA InstallationMaster™ or similar are highly preferred.
