Hourly Rate: $19.23/hr Position Summary: The ECC Family Time Coordinator position serves as a paraprofessional support to the Early Childhood Court Dependency case management team, with primary focus on coordinating and supervising Family Time Visitation with families involved with the Dependency Child Welfare System of Care, specifically the ECC program. The ECC Family Time Coordinator will be responsible for promoting positive parent and child interaction during all Family Time visitation and maintaining accurate records to capture full details from the family time session. The ECC Family Time Coordinator will facilitating and develop an individualized Family Time plan for all clients and will maintain client records and program documentation based on first-hand observations and assessments. They are also responsible for transporting and possibly accompanying children and parents to Child Parent Psychotherapy, medical appointments, court and other provider meetings. They will be required to share their observations and information with the dependency court when appropriate. Technical/Functional Expectations: Complete required training – Essential Function: Comply with training requirements, to include Promoting First Relationships Model and other specific child welfare and illegal substance related topics Safety – Facilitate and provide supervision for families during Family Time activities. Must act decisively, when necessary, to protect clients and model appropriate boundaries for parents and children during supervised Family Time. Permanency – Essential Function: Adhere to and monitor Family Time Guidelines to successfully achieve permanency for children placed in out-of-home care. Reports – Essential Function: Prepare all required documentation and submit within the required timeframes; make recommendations; prepare status reports and testify at court hearings regarding observations and interactions during supervised Family Time, reunification, permanent guardianship, termination of parental rights, or other case management activities. Documentation – Essential Function: Ensure documentation occurs within the SACWIS system and other related systems within required timeframes. Complete professional, timely program case documentation and reporting, including the tracking and monitoring of client progress and outcomes. Engagement – Essential Function: Adhere to the local System of Care values, goals and priorities for Brevard’s children, youth and families; Utilize a family centered strength-based approach to care; Monitor quality of care by ensuring appropriate visitation plans are in place to correlate to the needs of the family. Support – Essential Function: Provide support to staff, children, caregivers, parents and family members to ensure timely achievement of permanency; Coordinate cases with team members, providers, DCF and attorneys as needed. Meetings : attend and engage in all required meetings to share progress and assessment of Family Time Visitations and coordinating activities. Court Appearance and Preparation – Essential Function: At times, this position may require a court appearance. Case information must be reviewed prior to every hearing to be prepared to answer any questions from the Court regarding the status of the case, services, and progress towards permanency; Dress appropriately for Court appearances and ensure all court hearings are attended timely. Other duties as required: Job performance requires fulfilling other incidental or related duties as assigned, assisting and training others, and performing duties of higher rated positions from time to time for developmental purposes. Flexibility - Able to perform job duties at a high level of autonomy or with minimal supervision; able to set appropriate limits and boundaries with children and families; able to travel and make home visits; able to work flexible hours including afternoons, evenings and weekends and on call as required. Business Experience: Valid Driver's License - Essential: A valid driver's license is required to transports clients around the community; attend trainings and other activities throughout the County and State. Strong written and verbal communication skills: Strong communication skills are essential to clearly and concisely coach parents if needed during Family Time sessions. Strong written skills are required as observations of client contacts will be documented in SACWIS system and emails and other requests require a professional and courteous response. Collaborative, solution-focused approach: A collaborative, solution-focused approach is essential to foster and develop relationships with clients, peers, and providers in the community; and to build consensus among parties with conflicting positions and opinions. Computer literacy: Intermediate skill in Microsoft Suites and SACWIS system are required. Educational and Experience Requirements: Associates degree or higher level of educational attainment preferred. At least 2 years’ experience in child welfare or human services. S trong knowledge about dependency case management, supervised family time and child welfare system of care.
