We are looking for professionals to join our team and learn to help shape the future of Sarasota County! In this role, you'll support our Libraries and Historical Resources Department by inputting records into the Library System and maintaining the accuracy of the database and financial accounting. This position will be in our Selby Library - just minutes from the main street. The pay starts between $19.87 - $20.25/hr, based upon experience and benefits begin within 60 days of hire. Input all required information for order records and item records into the library database for purchases and/or donations.

Manage order records, typing, and data entry.

Proof and edit database records as needed.

Download vendor-supplied MARC records and verify accuracy of cataloging and edits as needed.

Ensure routine maintenance of the database by deleting information for withdrawn materials.

Perform database changes as directed for special projects.

Copy cataloging of AV and book materials.

Create item record codes as necessary for special account tracking.

Participate as a member or Team Leader in assigned short-term special projects.

About the ScheduleWork Hours:

Full-Time, 40 hours per week.

Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

About YouMinimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED

0 - 2 years of clerical and computer experience or exposure

An aptitude and willingness to learn!

Valid Florida Driver's License by date of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

Two years of clerical and computer experience

One year of Library Experience -or- one year of college may substitute for one year of experience

Subject to Passing Substance Screening: This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening. An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment in any class for a period of five (5) years.
