As the Administrative Specialist III for the Planning and Development Services (Zoning) Department you will be responsible for customer service, clerical, secretarial, processing and/or internal financial related duties. Provide primary assistance and direct support to the Zoning Administrator and Assistant Zoning Administrator. Review and edit correspondence, records, and reports as requested. Maintain calendars, schedule meetings and conference calls, coordinate travel. Monitor department budget; provide input on future budget needs. Skillful in responding to executives and external customers; take initiative to contact customers on difficult issues.

Serve as the Department Liaison to the Board of Zoning Appeals and Recording Secretary. Participate in site visits, coordination with applicants on application submittal, proper notification to surrounding neighbors as required, and meeting dates. Coordinate with Facilities Maintenance and Public Communications to ensure building utilization and meeting broadcasting.

Knowledge of the Unified Development Code (UDC) to assist with customer inquiries received the by the Zoning Administrator/Assistant Zoning Administrator, as well as serving as a point of contact for the department and the ability to provide efficient customer service.

Daily review of Temporary Use Permit, Business Use Permit, Alcohol Beverage, and Zoning Verification applications uploaded through Accela, ensuring all required documentation has been uploaded, and proper routing to appropriate review agencies. Expert in GovMax, WorkDay, and Accela.

Assist with research of complex projects and public records requests.

Serve as P-card Account Coordinator for various individuals within Planning and Development Services.

E-Work/Hybrid Work: Currently this position is eligible to e-work up to 2 days per week! After you complete your first six months, contingent on work requirements and other factors, you’ll be eligible for this fantastic benefit.

Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. About YouTo thrive in this position, you must have-

An Associate degree and 4-6 years of clerical or administrative experience with some executive exposure

Year-for-year experience may substitute for the college degree
