Our busy Internal Medicine practice in Sarasota, Florida, is dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality care to our diverse patient population. We are looking for an experienced Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our team and contribute to our mission of delivering exceptional patient care in a supportive, patient-centered environment.

Position Overview:

As a CMA, you will work closely with our nurse practitioners and clinical staff to assist in patient care, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow. Your role will involve taking patient histories, performing clinical procedures, and maintaining accurate records in our Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system, Athena. The ideal candidate will be compassionate, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced practice.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist nurse practitioners with patient exams and procedures

Record patient vital signs, medical histories, and current health concerns

Prepare patients for examinations and provide comfort throughout their visit

Administer medications, injections, and vaccinations as directed

Perform routine lab tests, EKGs, and other clinical procedures

Enter and update patient information in our EMR system accurately

Help manage patient flow and coordinate follow-up appointments

Educate patients on health maintenance, procedures, and medications

Ensure exam rooms are clean, organized, and properly stocked

Address patient inquiries with professionalism and empathy

Requirements:

Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) from an accredited program

Experience with Electronic Medical Records, Athena preferred

Solid understanding of medical terminology and clinical procedures

Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient-focused approach

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

Current CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)

Experience in an internal medicine or outpatient clinic setting is preferred
