Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer to lead and optimize our fabrication and manufacturing processes. This individual must thrive in a high-mix, low-volume production environment and possess hands-on experience implementing Lean Manufacturing principles. A successful candidate will be a motivational leader and a positive change agent, capable of working across departments to drive efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance team performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze and optimize workflows, layouts, and production schedules for maximum efficiency.
Identify and eliminate waste using Lean tools (5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, etc.).
Lead continuous improvement projects to reduce cost and increase productivity.
Work closely with shop floor teams to provide training and implementation support for Lean initiatives.
Design, implement, and refine metrics to monitor performance and drive improvements.
Collaborate with design, project management, and fabrication teams to improve manufacturability of custom signs.
Serve as a technical resource to resolve production challenges and recommend long-term solutions.
Lead by example to build a culture of accountability, collaboration, and problem-solving.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent professional experience with proven results.
Minimum 3-5 years experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment, preferably in a high-mix, low-volume shop.
Demonstrated success implementing Lean Manufacturing tools in various business models.
Proven ability to lead teams, facilitate change, and influence without authority.
Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in process mapping, root cause analysis, and production planning tools.
Preferred:
Experience in signage or custom fabrication industries.
Familiarity with ERP systems and CAD software.
Six Sigma or Lean Certification.
