Auto Mechanic
Diesel and/or Powersport Knowledge Preferred
Gulf Coast Mechanics is located in Sarasota, FL. We specialize in Light Duty Diesel Trucks and Powersports (ATVs, Jet Skis, Motorcycles etc.) though we occasionally repair cars. We are in search of a reliable and experienced mechanic with analytical and troubleshooting skills across a variety of platforms.
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Inspect vehicle engine and components to accurately diagnose issues
Conduct routine maintenance
Repair vehicles as needed
Provide detailed estimates for repairs
Keep logs of all work performed
Maintain and clean garage equipment and tools to ensure they are kept in safe and usable conditions at all times
Qualifications
Must be detail oriented and organized
Ability to lift 50lbs
Maintain a valid driver’s license
Positive attitude
Great work ethic
Eagerness to learn and grow with the organization
Required:
Proven vehicle troubleshooting skills outside of computer/scanner use
Ability to improvise on the fly
Ability to work independently
Previous experience with at least one of the following: light duty diesel trucks, powersports, or vehicle lift and suspension
General understanding of electronics with familiarity and troubleshooting of DC applications
Familiarity with common shop tools; vehicle lift, torque wrench, scanner, etc.
Ideal:
3+ years of experience with diesel and powersports. Applicants with a broader skillset will be given priority. Least priority will be given to those with only experience from large, single brand car dealerships, but you may still apply, and we will consider on a case by case basis.
ASE or other relevant certifications for auto, powersports or marine.
We will also take into consideration personal experience/builds
Job Type: Full Time. We may consider Part Time applicants with the desired skillset.
Schedule: Our Standard Hours are 8:30am – 5:30pm, Monday – Friday, No weekends. We may provide schedule flexibility as needed.
Location: One Location in Sarasota, FL
Compensation: Starting at $22/Hour - Based on Experience and Capabilities
