Full-Time Plant Maintenance Mechanic

We are seeking a highly skilled and versatile Facility Maintenance Mechanic with a strong industrial and electrical background to maintain and support the operations of our cement ready-mix plant. The ideal candidate will have broad hands-on experience with industrial equipment and a sound understanding of electrical systems. In addition to mechanical duties, the ideal candidate will also be expected to demonstrate leadership, participate in project management, and occasionally oversee plant and shop operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Mechanical & Electrical Duties:

Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on plant equipment, including:

o Conveyor belts and related components

o Butterfly, Mack, and Parker valves

o Pumps including Pentair, Gould’s, and similar brands

Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, motor controls, and PLC-based equipment.

Install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems (PVC and galvanized pipe).

Conduct inspections and diagnostics to ensure plant equipment operates safely and efficiently.

Work at heights safely for inspections or repairs of silos, conveyors, or overhead structures.

Plant Operations Support:

Respond quickly to plant outages, equipment failures, or other mechanical breakdowns.

Collaborate with batch plant operators to resolve issues impacting production.

Be available to work flexible hours that align with plant operations, including weekends and overnight shifts.

Utilize Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) to:

o Input and track maintenance data

o Create and manage spreadsheets for cost tracking and budget adherence

o Report monthly expenses and inventory usage

Support truck shop operations: schedule PM services, order parts and consumables, ensure compliance with safety standards.

Take initiative on projects in the field, including planning, resourcing, and executing tasks with minimal oversight.

Manage multiple priorities calmly and efficiently in high-pressure or emergency situations.

Address conflicts or operational disruptions diplomatically, with a focus on resolution and team cohesion.

Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or GED required; technical certification in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Systems, or related field preferred.

Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in an industrial maintenance role, preferably in ready-mix or similar heavy industrial environments.

Strong background in electrical troubleshooting and mechanical repair

Experience with plant automation and batching systems is a strong plus

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word

Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and electrical schematics

Must be comfortable working at heights and in outdoor environments

Experience in the Concrete, Asphalt or Sanitation Industries a PLUS

Physical Requirements:

Able to lift 50+ lbs regularly

Climb ladders, work at elevated heights, and perform physical labor in rugged conditions

Stand, bend, kneel, and work in confined spaces for extended periods

Tolerate loud noise, dust, heat, and exposure to weather
