GEM Industries is seeking skilled and experienced Industrial Painters with a proven ability to work safely at heights using scaffolding. This role involves preparing, painting, and maintaining industrial structures, requiring proficiency in various painting techniques and a strong commitment to safety.
Responsibilities:
Scaffolding/Scissor Lifts Expertise: Safely erect, dismantle, and maintain scaffolding/Lifts for painting projects.
Surface Preparation: Clean, sandblast, scrape, and otherwise prepare surfaces for painting.
Painting Application: Apply paint, coatings, and finishes using various techniques (brush, roller, spray).
Mix/Match Paints: Accurately mix, select, and blend paints, coatings, and other materials to meet job specifications.
Maintenance & Repairs: Perform routine and non-routine maintenance and repairs on industrial structures and equipment.
Tool Usage: Operate and maintain a variety of painting tools and equipment, including spray guns, brushes, rollers, and ladders.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety procedures and regulations, including OSHA guidelines for working at heights.
Teamwork: Collaborate with other painters and tradespeople on projects as needed.
Qualifications:
Experience: Proven experience in industrial painting and experience working with scaffolding.
Skills: Proficiency in various painting techniques, including spray painting, brush painting, and roller application.
Safety Knowledge: Strong understanding of safety procedures, including OSHA guidelines for working at heights.
Physical Abilities: Ability to work at heights, climb ladders, and lift heavy materials.
Tools & Equipment: Experience with the use of various painting equipment including blast pots and spray guns.
Knowledge: Knowledge of various painting methods and applications.
Required:
High School Diploma/GED
Organization skills
Must be flexible regarding work schedules. Overtime may be necessary, as assigned. Normal schedule is Monday - Friday 7am-3:30pm.
