St. Augustine's premier living history attraction is seeking to add to our blackpowder staff. The position is part time (30 hours or fewer) to start, but could increase to full time . Experience with black powder weapons is preferred, but our highly knowledgeable staff of dedicated interpreters can train the right inexperienced person to do the roles , too. If you bring the right attitude and interest, we can help you to gain the skills you need to excel as a living history interpreter. The right attitude includes being a team player, having great people skills, being punctual, and having great attendance. Our current staff exemplifies these attributes, and we want to hire new people that do as well.
The jobs involve doing a technical, historically accurate demonstration in front of groups of guests, as well as interacting with guests one on one. The ability to talk in front of and directly to guests is crucial. We pride ourselves on our guest service, and seek to hire people with the same attitude. These positions are very customer forward, and we have high expectations of our staff with regard to giving our guests a great experience.
Weekend and holiday availability are required; please do not apply if you are unable or unwilling to work on weekends or holidays. We offer reimbursement for garb, after a 90 day probationary period, as the black powder position requires period correct garb.
