Marine Electrician

Work Experience Desired, but will train where necessary (With us the passion for boating is more important than the skills you have today, we are more than willing to train people with the right attitude.): Working knowledge and experience with electricity, marine electronics, batteries, inverters and solar panels. Requirements: ABYC electrical certification preferred but not required. A background in computer programming would be considered very beneficial. If not certified, the candidate must be willing to complete the course and exam within the first year of employment. Our ideal candidate would have a strong personal or professional boating background understanding most systems on leisure boats.

The bulk of our work consists of energy systems renovation and the right candidate’s skills and knowledge should align and/or compliment the work we do.

Lithium upgrades.

Solar installations with custom arch fabrication.

Inverter installation and AC distribution panel re-design.

B2B or high output alternators.

Isolation transformers – Autotransformers

Almost exclusive use of Victron products, a strong knowledge is a big plus.

Electronics package installation.

High efficiency 12v/24v DC air conditioners or inverter based AC air conditioners.

Custom circuits such as solar load dump directed to the hot water heater.

Custom Bi-directional changeover systems for B2B chargers.

Duties

Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment in recreational vessels.

Utilize power tools and precision measuring instruments to ensure accurate installations and repairs.

Perform vehicle maintenance as needed for transportation to job sites.

Conduct regular inspections of electrical systems to identify potential issues and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

Collaborate with customers to understand their needs and provide exceptional customer service throughout the project lifecycle.

Execute heavy lifting tasks as required for installation or repair projects.

Apply mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot complex electrical problems effectively.

Assist in welding tasks when necessary for specific projects or repairs.

Requirements

Proven experience as an Electrician or in a similar role within the electrical field.

Strong understanding of electrical systems, wiring diagrams, and schematics.

Familiarity with power tools and precision measuring instruments is essential.

Ability to perform heavy lifting and work in various physical conditions.

Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients.

Military experience is a plus but not required; however, candidates should demonstrate discipline and attention to detail.

Mechanical knowledge is beneficial for troubleshooting and repair tasks.

The Yacht Rigger is open from 8:30am- 4:30pm Monday- Friday, except for Holidays or discussed schedule changes prior to that date. The standard workweek is 40 hours.

Job Types: Part-time, Full-time

Pay: From $20.00-38.00 per hour depending on experience
