To find out more about us, click on the link: http://www.floridajobs.org/ The Work You Will Do: This position serves as the Division of Economic Development’s Communications Coordinator and is responsible for writing, editing, and distributing the Division’s press releases, statements, correspondences, etc., and meeting the appropriate deadlines with division staff and the Office of Communications. Pay:

$51,320 - $75,000

Your Specific Responsibilities:

Reviews documents for accuracy, correct format and grammatical errors. Works with staff to ensure factual reporting of information for documents that are used.

Prepares fact sheets or other written material for Division programs’ external distribution. Maintains division templates and manages the Division’s communication material. The position assists in the planning, directing and development of communication designed to keep the Division’s programs, services, accomplishments and/or mission. Assist Management in developing policy decisions and procedures to accomplish the Division’s purpose and fulfill the Division’s statutory obligations effectively and efficiently.

Plans and ensures that the Division’s internal communications are current and appropriate.

Responds in a timely and comprehensive manner to inquiries sent by internal or external entities and is available to work on special projects, as needed.

In collaboration with the Division’s bureaus, offices, and others, oversees the Division’s internet website content maintenance. Supports collaboration, consistency, and quality of finalized communications material, including brochures, division display boards and other media.

In collaboration with Division Bureau Chiefs, researches and writes talking points for the Deputy Secretary and Bureau Chiefs. Assist staff in promoting Division programs in Florida communities. Assist program staff in creating presentations and outreach material. Participate in trainings and workshops to help staff organize and facilitate events.

Coordinates and delivers various reports, including the monthly report submitted to the Executive Office, as required. Maintains Division mandatory reports list. Coordinate assignments and create timelines to ensure State and Federal deadlines are met and reports routed to proper management within set timeframe. Prepare report package and distributed to proper data and information for reports to management.

Tracks Division project requests and assists Deputy Secretary to assign projects to correct Bureaus. Collects and combines data and information for reports to management.

Assists in tracking and directing Governor Correspondence through the right bureau or office. Coordinates with staff and submit responses in a timely manner.

Perform other duties as required .

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to work independently and under minimum supervision.

Possess the technical knowledge, as well as the verbal and writing skills needed to effectively communicate with Division staff and clients in a timely manner.

Ability to conduct effective research and prepare information for dissemination.

Ability to organize and prioritize work assignments and to effectively handle multiple tasks.

Must have good communication and excellent writing and prooing skills.

Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint programs.

Knowledge of State of Florida administrative and public records procedures.

Qualifications:
