The specialist will work closely with stakeholders to obtain data required for refugee operational activities, including federal reports. This position is located at theDCF HeadquartersinTallahasseein the Office of Information Technology Services (OITS). The position is full-time,in-person. Examples of Work Performed:
Supports the refugee services data entry system and maintains automated reports that support the federal grant and state contract management requirements for refugee services.
Works with stakeholders to obtain accurate and relevant data for operational activities.
Analyzes and compiles data and prepare reports.
Serves on one or more service teams, representing the data unit and providing input in all areas discussed to improve the performance of the service.
Designs systems and procedures, conducting activities for purposes of constructing, integrating, modifying, delivering, or completing programs, systems, structures, or products involving the refugee services data.
Provides technical assistance and support.
Reviews programs, services, screens, and reports, and confers with management and users to identify problems, improvements, requirements, and business rules.
Performs and documents system enhancements or corrections.
Maintains user manuals and data dictionaries.
Provides training to system users as required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of the software development life cycle (SDLC).
Knowledge of computer programming languages and software.
Ability to design programs and systems logic.
Skilled at preparing written reports including statistical data.
Ability to process information logically, analyze, and interpret data.
Ability to make presentations either written or oral.
Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments; communicate technical information effectively; and establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, information technology, or a related field.
2+ years of experience in software and database design.
Strong analytical skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, proficiency in data analysis, and familiarity with grant compliance requirements.
Intermediate level of experience with SQL.
Some knowledge of Oracle APEX systems.
Possess multicultural awareness.
