Duties & Responsibilities

Operates survey instruments/equipment required to perform surveys on job sites as directed by the Party Chief.

Responsible for the operation, checking and basic field adjustments on transits, total stations, robotic total stations, data collectors, levels, compass, tribrachs, tripods, and GPS equipment (RTK, RTN, Static, etc...).

Coordinate field work for a variety of standard types of surveys under the supervision of a Crew Chief.

Interpret control point records and data sheets, as well as locate points in the field.

Basic plan reading and preparation (i.e., site plans, boundary plans, highway plans, profile and cross sections, horizontal and vertical curves, pipeline plans, foundation plans, and developing existing and finished contours)

Responsible for ensuring the truck is loaded and all supplies necessary for completion of the day's work are fully stocked.

Required Experience - Education and Skills

Ability to walk 5 miles a day and/or stand for up to 12 hours a day

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds of equipment

Ability to travel for extended periods

Ability to work in all-weather climates

Valid driver's license, clean background check and drug screening
