O’Neal Surveying & Mapping, Inc. (OSM) has immediate openings for experienced Survey Instrument Person and entry level Rod Person positions in Tallahassee, Florida. The ideal Instrument Person candidate will possess a minimum of 2-3 years’ experience working with instruments and data collections systems (total stations, GPS systems, levels and other measuring devices) to acquire data for various types of surveys, primarily topographical and boundary. Experience with FDOT/EFB data collection is a plus.
Entry Level Rod Person position requires no experience, training will be provided.
All applicants should be prepared to work out of town whenever required, which will be often. If this will not work for you, please do not apply. This position is normally Monday-Friday, but occasionally there will be work required on Saturdays and Sundays. All hours worked over 40 per week will be paid as overtime.
OSM Benefits include two weeks paid PTO (80 hours); seven paid holidays including the Friday after Thanksgiving; Health Insurance coverage with Florida Blue, of which 100% of the employee’s premium is paid by OSM (after 60 days employment); reimbursement of fees to obtain certain technical certifications associated with Land Surveying and per diems for meals when traveling. PTO begins to accrue from the1st day you start work.
In addition, this position will require:
Valid driver's license (in order to drive a company vehicle)
Ability to carry and lift equipment (up to 50 lbs), being physically fit, able to work in heat and humidity in adverse conditions (such as standing water and insects)
Ability to cut and/or clear brush while establishing survey lines with a machete
