About the Company
We are a growing accounting and tax firm in Largo, FL, providing year-round bookkeeping, accounting, and tax support to small businesses, corporations, and individuals.
Our team is small but mighty — we’re fast-paced during tax season but value balance and flexibility throughout the year.
We believe great work comes from a supported, respected team. That’s why we prioritize:
Work-Life Balance – Flexible scheduling outside of tax season; we respect your time.
People-First Leadership – Supportive management that invests in your long-term success.
Positive Company Culture – A collaborative, professional environment where your contributions matter with a little fun mixed in throughout the day.
If you’re looking for an accounting role that values your expertise and well-being, you’ll feel right at home with us.
About the Role:
We’re seeking an experienced Tax Manager / Tax Supervisor with a background in both technical tax preparation and project management of tax workflow. This position goes beyond reviewing returns—you will be responsible for assessing team capacity, assigning tax projects, monitoring progress, and ensuring best practices and SOPs are followed for each type of return.
The right candidate will be a CPA or EA (preferred), or an experienced tax professional with strong leadership and workflow management skills, who is comfortable leading a team, managing multiple deadlines, and ensuring client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and review individual tax returns (Form 1040) and trust tax returns (Form 1041).
Oversee and support business tax return processes in collaboration with other managers.
Manage tax workflow and project management: assess team workload, allocate returns, and track deadlines.
Ensure compliance with SOPs, best practices, and quality standards for all tax preparation.
Review returns at a high level so only a final partner/owner check is needed.
Mentor and train preparers to raise tax knowledge, efficiency, and accuracy.
Implement and improve processes, systems, and workflow tools to enhance efficiency.
Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous learning.
What We’re Looking For:
Proven experience managing a tax team in a public accounting or tax preparation firm.
Strong project management background—able to handle deadlines, competing priorities, and workflow organization.
Excellent leadership, delegation, and mentoring skills.
Outgoing and approachable—strong communicator with staff and clients alike.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and committed to accuracy.
Self-motivated, but collaborative and team-focused.
Qualifications:
2–4+ years of tax preparation and review experience (including 1040s).
Strong knowledge of individual, trust, and small business tax regulations.
CPA or EA strongly preferred (candidates on track will also be considered).
Proficient with tax software and workflow/project management tools.
Prior supervisory experience required—must have managed staff and tax workflows.
Schedule & Expectations:
Position starts part-time (up to 25 hours a week, with growth to full-time position closer to tax season).
Some overtime required during tax season (Jan–Apr).
Flexible scheduling in the off-season to support work-life balance.
Year-round work (this is not a seasonal position).
Benefits:
