Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Quotation Estimator to develop accurate, competitive, and compliant quotations for complex manufacturing projects. This role involves leveraging a strong background in precision CNC machining and cost estimation to support sales and ensure profitability across various industries, including aerospace, defense, and general manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
RFQ Review: Review Requests for Quotation (RFQs), engineering drawings, 3D CAD models, specifications, and technical documentation from clients.
Cost Estimation: Estimate material costs, machine time, and labor costs for machining and assembly projects to ensure profitability.
Process Development: Identify optimal manufacturing methods, recommend cost-effective solutions, and create a brief machining plan outlining necessary steps and required tooling/fixturing.
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including purchasing, sales, and shop floor personnel, to ensure all proposals meet quality and regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO, AS9100, ITAR).
Customer Interaction: Serve as a key technical point of contact for customers, addressing technical questions related to Design for Manufacturability and clarifying drawing ambiguities.
Qualifications & Skills
Technical degree/equivalent experience.
Proven experience with quoting and estimating methods in a manufacturing environment, specifically with CNC machining components.
Robust knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), blueprint interpretation, and material specifications.
Experience with CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, Solid CAM, Mastercam).
Familiarity with quality management systems (ISO 9001, AS9100).
Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills.
