The Applications Development Senior Programmer Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for participation in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to applications systems analysis and programming activities.The Information Services Group is the custodian of Citi's assets: Products, Pricing and Accounts. Within this area there are a number of Reference Data systems, key applications which service clients across all Citi business areas. Each application has a distinct and vital purpose in the daily collection, manipulation using business rules and distribution of business critical information on a global scale.Responsibilities:
Design and develop business applications using AbInitio, UNIX, Bash/Korn Shell Script, Oracle PL/SQL in accordance with Citi guidelines and SDLC process Supervise and steer Abinitio ETL (Extract-Transform-Load) design and development activities
Implement best practices for ETL development, logical and physical data modeling
Engage in data architecture design activities. Provide technical recommendations for data warehouse and business analytics
Develop and implement business application enhancements, interfacing with users, and provide information to upstream and downstream systems. Participate in team development processes including code review and task tracking
Gather and analyze business requirements. Provide functional and technical design documents
Perform unit, systems, and integration testing to ensure product quality, and provide problem status information
Estimate the size and scope of development efforts for scheduled product delivery
Coordinate with offshore team for ETL development and support activities
Qualifications:
5-8 years of relevant experience
Experience in systems analysis and programming of software applications
Experience in managing and implementing successful projects
Working knowledge of consulting/project management techniques/methods
Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements
Strong experience with ETL tool Abinitio/UNIX/Linux;
Strong experience with Oracle PL/SQL;
Experience Bash and/or Korn Shell Scripting;
Experience with Autosys.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
