SMA Billing Representative is responsible for ensuring that insurance carriers are properly billed for services rendered and that payments are received in a timely manner.This position is full-time, Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 7:30am - 5:00pm PST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.We offer weeks of on-the-job training. The hours of the training will be 7:30am - 5:00pm PST, Monday-Friday.All Telecommuters will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group’s Telecommuter Policy.Primary Responsibilities:

Follow up on outstanding claims via phone, web and mail

Denial resolution

Identifying trends

Upkeep on insurance changes including but not limited to: policy changes, claims address updates, third party administrator changes

Work collaboratively with other departments as needed to resolve claim issues

High School Diploma / GED

Must be 18 years or older

1+ years experience working with ICD10 and CPT coding – including modifiers

1+ years of A/R Medical Billing experience including Claims Status, claim appeals/reconsiderations, charge entry, payment entry and AR follow-up

Basic computer skills with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel

Ability to work Monday-Friday, any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 7:30am - 5:00pm PST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.

Preferred Qualifications:

APM /NextGen/ ECW/EPIC Experience

Medicare and/or Medicaid billing experience

Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers

Understanding of basic accounting principles, fair credit practices and collection regulations

Telecommuting Requirements:

Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)

Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy.

Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service.

Soft Skill:

High degree of accuracy and attention to detail

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Washington or Rhode Island Residents Only: The hourly range for California / Colorado / Connecticut / Hawaii / Nevada / New York / New Jersey / Washington / Rhode Island residents is $16.54 - $32.55 per hour.
