As a vital member of our Florida & Puerto Rico team, you’ll have the opportunity to work on transportation projects that focus on bridges and other transportation structure designs. Working alongside a team of technicians and engineers, you’ll be responsible for creating drawings and simulations using software tools and resources supporting our clients’ overall project goals.By joining us, you’ll prepare final designs and drawings for variously sized bridges related projects. You’ll serve as a core team member to help successfully deliver quality projects. Working closely with other disciplines, you’ll assist with field assignments as related to transportation structures, reviewing shop drawings and answer RFI’s during construction. Bachelor degree Substantial years of professional bridge design experience and transportation structure design Knowledge of AASHTO LRFD Design Code, FDOT Bridge Specifications, ACI and ASCI Design Codes Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Florida Technical expertise for the layout & design of bridges and related highway structures Preparation of preliminary and final design documents including Bridge Development Reports (BDR), Bridge Load Rating (BLR) Calculation, and Design-Build Technical Proposals Skill with bridge design including Reinforced Concrete Bridges, Prestressed/Post-tensioned Concrete Bridges, Steel Plate, and Box Girder Bridges, Retaining Walls, Box Culverts, Sign/Signal Structures, Sound Barrier Walls, and other transportation-related structures Ability on the assembling of FDOT plans preparation criteria and design standards Review shop drawings and other construction related submittals Proficient with Microstation or AutoCADD and MathCAD Experience with Microsoft Windows Office Suite Proficiency in advanced Structural Engineering Software including SAP2000, CSI Bridge, Midas Civil, RM Bridge and other bridge design software High productivity, attention to detail, effective verbal and written communication skills, and an ability to work well in a team environment Exercise initiative and independent judgement in the solution of work problemsJacobs is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
