Position Purpose: The Construction Project Engineer is responsible for oversight of Veolia construction projects. This position will be dedicated to supporting large construction activities in the US and Canada. This individual will provide direct daily support to a large construction project in Tampa, Florida, in the near term and additional projects as business needs change over time. Primary objectives of the role include:Provide construction project team with field engineering support for construction activities.Assists in the coordination of both design and construction activities at the site.Works with existing operation teams and on site contractors to ensure that work is properly coordinated and done safely.Works to create a collaborative work environment.Manages document control library of all pertinent construction documentation, drawing updates.Primary Duties/Responsibilities: Coordinating with vendors to ensure that materials are delivered on time and within budget.Preparing estimates for labor costs, materials costs, and equipment costs to determine project budgets.Ensuring that safety procedures are followed during construction to prevent injuries or damage to property.Meeting with clients to discuss project details and requirements, such as materials needed or design specifications.Drafting detailed construction plans, including diagrams of mechanical systems and layouts of machinery rooms or buildings.Reviewing blueprints and design drawings to ensure conformance to industry standards.Coordinating with architects and contractors to ensure that designs meet legal and regulatory requirements.Providing technical support to construction crews during the building phase of projects.Identifying potential risks and developing plans to mitigate them.Completes technical studies and prepares cost estimates.Maintain records of and manages/approves contractor change requests and works to resolve issues with mechanical design.Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, and resolving problems.Prepares project status reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends and recommending actions.Maintains a safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations. Maintains project database.
