Corporate Development - Manager, Strategic FinancePosition SummaryCorporate Development - Manager, Strategic Finance (external equivalent: Director)What you will doThe Manager will play a critical role in accelerating the growth of Deloitte by supporting the planning, analysis, and evaluation of the firm's largest and most strategic investments. The role is entirely project-based and serves as an internal strategic advisor that partners with senior leadership and operating executives across all four businesses of Deloitte (Consulting, Advisory, Tax, Audit). Note that the role requires limited domestic travel for project-related meetings with business partners. The team is remote, and the role can work from home or from one of Deloitte's local offices if desired.About the teamThe role is on the Strategic Finance team within Deloitte's US Corporate Development function. The Strategic Finance team drives the growth of the firm by supporting Deloitte's largest and most strategic investments. Many investments supported by the Strategic Finance team align with the firm's Strategic Growth Opportunities (SGOs) and include organic investments in technology and services businesses.Examples of projects that the Strategic Finance team supports include:

Organic investments related to cutting-edge technologies such as AI (including Generative AI), Cyber, Cloud and Blockchain & Digital Assets

Major investments in high-growth professional services in areas such as Sustainability, Climate & Equity, Government & Public Services, Private Equity, and Space Strategy

Financial analysis and thought leadership for major strategic initiatives across the firm

Financial modeling for ad hoc projects for Corp Dev leadership

Partnering with the firm's Investment Finance team to conduct strategic reviews of active investments to assess performance against strategic objectives and financial targets

ResponsibilitiesThe responsibilities for the role will vary depending on the type of project. In addition, the scope of the role is flexible and will expand as the candidate becomes more experienced and demonstrates success on projects.

Create driver-based financial models and business cases for organic investment opportunities

Partner with business to gather and vet business case assumptions and underlying rationale

Research internal and external metrics to develop benchmarks to sanity-check assumptions

Storyboard presentations and develop decks related to project outputs and other relevant topics

Conduct ad hoc financial analysis and market research to support projects

Manage day-to-day aspects of team projects including project planning, resource management, timeline management, and leading working sessions with business partners

Manage, develop, and mentor other team members

The successful candidate will possess:

Strong skills in financial modeling and business case development for investments

Experience in storyboarding and creating decks for executive audiences

Strong understanding of Finance and Accounting concepts

Excellent communication skills including partnering with executive leaders

Strong team player who brings a "roll up your sleeves" approach to getting the job done

Qualifications:

The preferred candidate will have a strong career interest in Strategic Finance and Corporate Development and the following qualifications:Required:

Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting

Minimum 5 to 8 years of experience in Investment Banking, Corporate Development, Strategic Finance, or quantitative Consulting roles

Must be able to work with a team and business partners that primarily work East Coast hours.

Limited immigration sponsorship may be available

Preferred:

MBA

Experience in technology and professional services businesses

This compensation range is specific to California, Colorado, Jersey City, New York City, and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
