AECOM is actively seeking a talented and highly motivated Interior Designer for immediate employment in our Tampa, FL office. This position will work within AECOM’s Building & Places (B+P).  Ideal candidates have the ability to be part of a collaborative project team, be client-focused, and produce great work.AECOM’s Buildings + Places practice includes architecture, interiors, building engineering, workplace strategy, master planning, urban planning, civil engineering, landscape architecture, and Cost Estimating.  Our Tampa office includes all disciplines and regularly works across offices and the region.The Interior Designer I position presents an opportunity for a candidate to excel in their career and develop expertise and contribute to growing our Interiors team. The position will also provide for career growth opportunity in developing overall professional capabilities, including learning to lead projects and teams, client interface and relationships and developing an internal network and knowledge.  AECOM actively supports continued education, training, and innovations in professional development. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:Initiate and develop design and construction document drawings through completion for assigned projects in conformance with the requirements, applicable codes, and design criteria established by the project’s discipline leadsUnder mentorship and moderate supervision, develop complex interior design drawingsExercise sound judgment in assessing problem situations or complex design issues and use effective approaches for choosing a course of action or developing appropriate solutionsReview discipline supplier documents and other discipline’s supplier documents for accuracyPerform thorough and accurate material take-offs for the disciplinePrepare designs and drawings using project specifications and discipline-associated written and verbal instructions in accordance with established design practices, standards, and proceduresReview completed work with design and drafting personnel responsible for its completion to ensure accuracy and compliance with codes and design dataUnderstand and assist with the planning and scheduling of design tasks associated with assigned projectAssist in interpreting industry codes, permits, and standards, and ensures design and drawing complianceField visits and site surveysCollaborate on project teams that may include Interior Designers, Architects, Engineers, Cost Estimators, Project Administrators, Contractors, and Clients
