Description
The Manager, Cloud Engineering is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day activities of Cloud Engineering teams, ensuring that the teams' goals, objectives are met.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:
Able to lead and motivate teams of Cloud Engineers that architect, design, deploy, maintain, and support enterprise Cloud infrastructures
Applies Servant Leadership principles to enable teams to succeed and perform optimally
Participates in the definition, planning, and progress tracking towards completion of teams' initiatives, goals, and assignments
Ensures alignment of teams' activities with business objectives and priorities
Elaborates and communicates projects' vision and goals, and how they tie into the overall organization strategic objectives
Elicits and coordinates communication with external teams and entities to bring about clarity of requirements, delivery expectations, and completion timelines
Identifies risks, escalates issues affecting teams, and proactively coordinates their prompt attention
Monitors for and works to remove blockers that impede progress
Helps implement Change Management practices for process execution, standards definitions, and documentation
Participates in Incident Management activities, as applicable
Assists on recruiting, training facilitation, and talent retention initiatives
Requirements:
Self-motivated professional, possessing strong organizational, time management, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills
Strong team player with cross-functional collaboration skills, relationship building skills, and capable of achieving results without direct supervision
Able to judiciously exercise delegated authority for planning, directing, coordinating, administering, and executing routine and complex projects or programs
Experienced in managing people, strategic planning, project management, risk management, change management, incident management activities
Significant experience implementing and following Agile practices using Jira, with specific focus on Scrum and Kanban methodologies
Basic understanding of Cloud concepts, Cloud offerings, Cloud technologies, Cloud-based application support, and software development processes
Demonstrated ability to work on multiple priorities and/or projects at the same time, with efficiency, producing high-quality results, and owning the outcome
Capable of independently managing the operational aspects of development projects
Knowledgeable of quality management approaches, techniques, and principles
Excel in the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of stakeholders, such as, company executives, business leaders, partners, managers, product owners, product developers, and subject matter experts
7+ years of combined experience involving team management, project management, SDLC responsibilities, and Cloud development/support (particularly leveraging AWS Cloud offerings)
University degree in a related area is preferred
Nice to have: Scrum Master Certification, AWS Certification
