Operations Leadership Manager

AECOM is actively seeking a highly talented Operational Leadership professional for exciting opportunities as part of AECOM’s transportation or Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) practice in the Southeast United States. The position will work with our local leadership team and primarily work at one or more client facilities, likely in the Tampa & Fort Myers areas. The candidate will concentrate efforts towards service areas of business operations, maintenance and application of transportation/ ITS concepts to those services and systems as needed. The candidate will need to be professional, self-motivated, resourceful and able to successfully execute a wide range of tasks in a fast-paced environment with ever-changing priorities. The appropriately qualified candidate will need to demonstrate an understanding of leadership capabilities within a real-time operations environment. A flexible schedule is needed for events and project coordination. The general responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:As directed, communicates with client managers, operations/project managers and department leads providing status updates, ascertain operational needs providing solutions to issues.Administration and direct management of the staff and coordination with the project manager to assure staff is compliant with the project requirements. Supports the development and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).Assist in the research and development of presentations, technical memos and studies.Attend internal and external meetings to represent the client, AECOM or operation. Actively reviews maintenance and operational activities for accuracy and appropriateness, providing guidance and feedback to staff as needed.Mentors current staff and new hires on procedures and policies.Assist in the development and facilitation of designated initial and recurrent training topics associated with operations.Oversee the development, revision and execution of the project safe work plan in conjunction with AECOM SH&E staff.Assists with monitoring contract expenditures and ensures the established budget is not exceeded.Contributes to accurate and timely after-action scenarios involving AECOM regional operations, when and where needed.Assists with special event planning and setup.Contribute to accurate and timely after-action reports for incidents and events.Effectively supports the recruitment, selection and on-boarding process for project staff.Advise and assist with outreach efforts on behalf of the client within the community and stakeholder networks.Work on special assignments, tasks, reports and presentations.Perform other duties as needed by the organization or client.

Specialized experience is defined as: 1) Must have held an FAA 2152 FV-J/FG-14 or above regional or headquarters positions for at least 1 year (52 weeks); or 2) Must have been facility rated or area certified for at least 1 year (52 weeks) at an ATS facility; (Note: an employee who has been facility rated or area certified for at least 1 year (52 weeks) in an ATS facility that is upgraded is considered to meet the qualification requirements of the upgraded position, since he or she has been performing the higher-graded work; or 3) Must have held a MSS position for at least 1 year (52 weeks) in an ATS facility.
