Apply now.A Brief Summary of This PositionValmont is currently seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for the Shipping/Receiving clerk position in the Tampa, Florida Coatings Division. We are looking for a highly driven individual that possesses knowledge of scale operations, basic computer skills, good communication skills, and attention to detail. They will also track inventory of incoming and outgoing product as well as inspect for damage and defect to ensure a high quality finished productEssential Functions:
Maintain a safe and productive working environment
Ensures that materials are properly packaged, identified, and tags scanned.
Loads material in a safe, secure, and professional manner.
Keep scale apron clean.
Weigh material and record weight.
Utilize mil reader to verify Zinc thickness
Coordinates the movement of finished material to scale.
Coordinates the movement of finished/weighed/inspected material to the finished yard.
Ensures that the scale is tested daily and properly maintained.
Be able perform operational duties when necessary.
All other duties as determined by management.
Operate forlift in a safe and secure manner
Read customer Orders, Work Orders, Shipping Orders, or Requisitions to determine items to be be moved, gathered, or distributed/shipped.
Enter orders received in. (data entry)
Wear required Personal Protective Equipment and follow facility safety regulations.
Required Qualifications of Every Candidate:
The physical ability to stand and walk duration of shift
Must be able to work in all weather conditions
Must be able to obtain Fork Lift Certification
Neat and accurate handwriting.
A basic working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Outlook.
The ability to work over ten hours a week in overtime when required for business needs The ability to recognize and solve practical problems or issues.
Must follow safety rules and report all accidents and near misses to management.
High attention to detail.
Excellent hand and eye coordination with 20/20 corrected vision.
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
The ability to accurately read a tape measure
The ability to lift 50lbs
The ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide
Must be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results
Highly qualified candidates will also possess:
One year of previous experience with scale operations
One year of previous experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment
Thorough understanding of the scale operation duties as it pertains to safety and quality.
One year of previous experience operating a forklift in a professional environment
The ablity to work in a high volume, fast paced environment

In addition, the nature of the industry results in extreme heat in the summer (typically 10-15 degrees above outdoor temperature), and melting snow off of incoming material results in damp, cold working conditions in the winter. The winter conditions are doubly hard to manage. The average employee dresses to be comfortable while doing his / her assigned task, and in doing so, subjects him / herself to chilling and cold as large fluctuations in temperature are brought about by the moving of material in and out of the facility.HazardsThe galvanizing industry is a heavy, demanding industry that is plagued by many hazards; however, this job description assumes that many of these hazards are avoidable if properly managed by close supervision and skilled employees. Some hazards are, include: hypersensitive reaction to chemical environment, heat exhaustion or aggravations created by blowing dust and ash.
