I am a 42-year-old partial quadriplegic man. I'm seeking compassionate assistance with daily living tasks. Currently looking for part-time, 2 days a week, 2 shifts per day. 7:30 am-9:30 am and 7:30 pm-9:30 pm. These hours are negotiable, I basically need someone there to help me begin my day and someone there to help me bring it to a close. This is not a live in position. When my current assistant (who is my mother) moves on to her next thing, there will be opportunity to work more hours if that's something you would want. Up to 36 hours a week potentially. Responsibilities will include help with dressing, bathing, light housekeeping, laundry, meal preparation, and transfers between bed and wheelchair. Oh, I have a cat so those folks with allergies need not apply. Experience with some type of caregiving is essential. This is a very personal gig, I'm letting you into my life. I'm looking for someone with a empathetic soul.
This is paid for through my long term care medical insurance. My insurance company is partnered with a company called GT Independence who would handle your pay. Prior to me being allowed to hire someone GT Independence needs to conduct a background check. This can take a couple weeks to complete and would be necessary before you could start work.
