We are seeking a dependable experienced caregiver to spend overnights with my elderly mother.
Overnights - 5 p.m. to 9 a.m. (16 hrs) - Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday with occasional Monday nights.
Pay is $200 flat rate overnight, $20 per hour for daytime shift work. You must be able to accept Zelle as payment.
We prefer someone with CNA, CMA or other training. Experience with the elderly is very important. On the evening shift, most of the time involves minimal medications, and it's nice if you hang out and watch TV with her. You can certainly grab some sleep, but you will need to be prepared to get up a couple times in the night to assist her to the bathroom or address any other urgent issues.
We have a separate bedroom room dedicated to overnight caregivers that is very comfortable and has its own TV.
Here are her needs:
- take and record vital signs (BP, temperature, HR, 02), and giving her prepared medication
- make her coffee in the morning, and perhaps a light snack like a yogurt or banana or ice cream
- assisting her with going to the bathroom; she can use a walker, it's just for fall prevention.
We strongly prefer a female due to the intimate nature of bathroom assistance. She prefers a mature individual, but anyone with the right credentials will be considered.
We are seeking someone with:
- Previous experience in health care or as a caregiver
- Medical certification, such as a Certified Nursing Assistant
- Reliable transportation with clean driving record
- Ability to pass a background check and drug test
- Can provide references from within the past three years
- Excellent English if it is not your first language
- Able to lift at least 50 pounds
- A good sense of humor and a positive attitude
- Must live in St. Petersburg, Bradenton, Tampa or otherwise within 45 minutes' drive
