Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled and reliable Digger Derrick Operator/Ground Hand with a valid B-CDL to join our dynamic team. This role involves operating digger derricks and performing ground-hand duties to support various construction and utility projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety. Please note the CDL only applies if you are applying as an operator, it is not a requirement for the ground-hand
Key Responsibilities:
Operate digger derricks to perform tasks such as digging holes, setting poles, and other related activities.
Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on digger derrick equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety.
Assist with the setup and teardown of equipment and work sites.
Collaborate with crew members to complete tasks efficiently and safely.
Follow safety protocols and guidelines at all times to minimize risks and ensure a safe working environment.
Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to coordinate tasks and report progress.
Load and unload equipment and materials as needed.
Perform ground-hand duties including but not limited to, site preparation, material handling, and debris removal.
Qualifications:
Valid Commercial Driver’s License (B-CDL) with a clean driving record.
Proven experience operating digger derricks and performing ground-hand duties.
Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to perform routine maintenance on equipment.
Knowledge of safety protocols and best practices in construction and utility work.
Ability to work in various weather conditions and physically demanding environments.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team.
High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications or training are a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry heavy materials and equipment (up to 50 lbs).
Stamina to work long hours, including overtime and weekends(Minimal), as required.
Comfort working at heights and in confined spaces.
