Post Hurricane Clean-Up

Storm cleanup requires a wide range of workers, including physical laborers who clear out debris, coordinators and contractors who work with local and state governments to manage and carry out their disaster relief and recovery plans, and insurance analysts and other assessors who inspect the damage.

Job Summary: We are seeking dedicated and physically capable individuals to join our post-hurricane cleanup team. The crew will assist in clearing debris, restoring safety, and helping the community recover after a hurricane event.

Key Responsibilities:

Debris Removal: Safely remove and dispose of fallen trees, branches, and other debris from residential and commercial properties.

Site Assessment: Help assess damage and prioritize cleanup tasks based on safety and urgency.

Hazardous Material Handling: Identify and safely manage hazardous materials, such as chemicals and broken glass, following safety protocols.

Community Support: Assist residents in cleanup efforts, providing physical support and guidance as needed.

Equipment Operation: Operate basic cleanup tools and machinery, such as chainsaws, chippers, and trucks, ensuring all equipment is used safely and effectively.

Team Collaboration: Work closely with other crew members and supervisors to complete tasks efficiently and maintain a positive team environment.

Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols to ensure the safety of yourself and others.

Qualifications:

Physical Fitness: Must be able to lift heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and perform physically demanding tasks.

Experience: Previous experience in construction, landscaping, or similar physical labor is preferred but not required.

Team Player: Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate clearly.

Flexibility: Willingness to work irregular hours, including weekends, as needed during the cleanup period.

Safety Awareness: Knowledge of safety practices related to cleanup and debris removal is a plus.

Compensation:

Competitive hourly wage, with overtime opportunities based on demand.

Dress Code

· T-shirt or long sleave shirt for sun protection. NO cut off sleeves or crop tops.

· Long pants only, NO cut-offs, or tight leggings allowed.

· You must wear steel-toed shoes, NO Sandals, sneakers or closed toe shoes of any kind will be allowed

· No clothing, hats or other items should be political in statement or have large logos.

Hot Weather Essentials

You will be on your feet for long periods of time in the direct sun. Please come prepared with a hat, sunscreen, bug spray, etc.

There will not be anywhere for you to store your belongings so make sure everything fits in a small bag/backpack and not have anything valuable inside.

Food and Snacks

Water and Meals will be provided. Please make sure to bring snacks with you, if you have any allergies or dietary restrictions.

Timekeeping

It is extremely important that you sign in at the beginning of the shifts, to and from breaks, as well as at the end of the shift in order to get paid.
