Job Description:
The Shop Helper supports the shop and field teams by performing a range of hands-on tasks, including maintaining work areas, preparing materials, making deliveries, and assisting with minor vehicle maintenance. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, is physically capable, and takes pride in being a valuable part of a team.
Your typical day would look like: Assist others in the morning gather material and get moving out of the shop to their respective job site. Sorting and storing any material and/or tools left in the bay from previous jobs. Clearing out trash from the warehouse and office. Sweeping and mopping if applicable. Bathroom maintenance. Picking up material from distributers and delivering to job sites.
This job sometimes, may require driving large trucks and heavy machinery such as skid steers, ditch witch, excavator and other.
You will also learn about electrical items, devices, terminology, basic electrical skills and much more.
Responsibilities:
Keep the shop clean, organized, and safe
Gather and stage materials and tools from in-shop inventory for upcoming projects
Deliver materials and supplies to job sites as needed (company vehicle provided)
Load and unload tools, equipment, and materials
Assist with preparing, measuring, cutting, and staging materials
Operate basic hand and power tools.
Support electricians and technicians during shop or on-site work
Assist with routine vehicle checks and basic maintenance (e.g., checking fluids, tire pressure, cleaning)
Maintain accurate records of deliveries and inventory use
Follow all safety guidelines and company procedures
Requirements:
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required
Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work on your feet throughout the day
Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
Reliable transportation and punctuality
Strong attention to detail and a team-oriented mindset
