CNC Lathe Machinist for a Aerospace Machine Shop qualifying AS9100 Certification: Successfully completing 30 years in Business.
Scope:
Performs machine set-ups with tight tolerance on Okuma Lathe, Swiss machine or a HAAS mill, high quality parts with low and high volume production runs, in accordance with approved drawings. Preforms in process quality checks to verify product requirements. Routinely uses hand measurement tools.
Education Level Required:
– At a minimum a high school diploma or GED equivalent with work experience.
– Preferred schooling in trade with completion certificates, training will be provided.
Competency:
Skills/Training Required:
– Trained in Geometric Dimension and Tolerance, proficient in blueprint reading, surface finishes
– Knowledge of speeds and feeds, 2D tool-paths
– Has thorough knowledge of inserts/tooling use, able to change offsets and know tooling setup.
– Advanced knowledge and experience in programming for CNC lathes
– CAM software, Swiss lathe machine experience will serve as an advantage
Responsibilities:
– Perform maintenance on own equipment, tooling and fixtures related to work parts.
– Must download or update available CNC program to any networked computer on the shop floor
– Locate tooling, Set up and operate CNC lathes per work instructions provided for the job
– Perform in-process inspection of own work while running machines.
– Identify, monitor, clean and return tooling/ quality gages.
– Maintains work area and complies with all established safety rules and work practices.
