Job Title: Gas Station Worker / Gas Station Attendant / Service Station Attendant
Job Summary: The gas station worker is responsible for providing excellent customer service, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of fuel dispensing equipment, and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the gas station. It involves handling transactions, assisting customers, and performing basic maintenance tasks. This role performs a range of tasks to ensure the smooth operation of a gas station.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service:
Greet customers warmly and assist them with their fuel and service needs.
Provide information about fuel types, prices, and promotions.
Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues or complaints professionally.
Transactions:
Process payments for fuel and other products using cash registers or point-of-sale systems.
Issue receipts and handle cash, credit/debit card transactions, and refunds accurately.
Keep track of the amount of money in the register and promptly report any irregularities. Cash drops in the safe as needed
Maintenance and Cleaning:
Perform regular cleaning of the station, including the fuel pumps, and restroom facilities.
Stock shelves, coolers, and displays to ensure products are fully replenished.
Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to management.
Safety and Compliance:
Follow safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
Additional Duties:
Conduct basic inventory checks, assist with ordering supplies, and communicate with vendors as needed.
Assist with receiving orders and ensuring products match purchase orders
Provide support to other team members and perform additional tasks as assigned by management or as needed.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience: Previous customer service or retail experience is a plus but not required.
Skills:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to handle cash and operate point-of-sale systems.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
Working Conditions:
May require standing for long periods and working outdoors
Frequent lifting of 1-5 lbs, and occasional lifting of up to 40 - 50 lbs.
Shifts may include early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays.
