We are seeking an EXPERIENCED AUTOMOTIVE combo tech to work Fulltime within Hillsborough County
(Tampa) at a rental car repair facility. The main role of this position will be small to medium repairs and to prep a portion of the day. You would also fill in if the painter is on vacation, sick etc etc. Only one location so no running between lots. You’ll show up to the same place everyday. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for auto body repair and a strong attention to detail. We are a Speed Repair facility focused on light to medium body repair and paint refinishing. We are NOT an ordinary bodyshop.
We’ve been handling this account for over 15 years and aren’t your typical on-lot vendors.
This can be a tough job at times because we don't use a booth. All painting is done outside, under tents, using shop-pro mobile spray stations (with filtration and fire suppression) and at the mercy of the Florida elements. Working this way keeps our costs down and more money in YOUR pocket!
I'm looking for someone who can take pride in their work. If there are any mistakes, we need honesty and a willingness to make it right. We understand there may be a learning curve in some cases, but we are here to help.
This is a well-established small business that we’ve built up over the years and we maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and quality of work.
Pay is salary or hourly and wage is based on experience
REQUIRED:
- At least 2 years of auto body, paint and prep experience required and must have your own spray guns and tools
- PPG Deltron mixing system experience preferred
- Customer service experience preferred
- Must possess strong work ethic and have the ability to function independently and responsibly
- Must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver's license and CLEAN driving record
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
- Must have the ability to sit, bend, squat, and hold various positions for long periods of time; outdoors in Florida weather
-Must have the ability to work some evenings and weekends to finish jobs if necessary
- Must speak English
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Using the properly trained techniques and various tools to perform the following services:
- Start to Finish paint and body work ability is a MUST.
- Ability to prep, sand and prime
- Ability to Mix and Match paint
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks
- Experience in auto body repair and familiarity with mechanical knowledge
- Ability to blend panels
