Are you proud of the work you do? Do you want to be proud of where you do it? We are a 4.8 star rated shop in Pinellas Park that has been open for over 10 years. At your new shop you'll have at least 2 lifts to work from. You'll have a dual monitor work station in your bay with access to multiple service information systems including OE subscriptions as needed. Your workstation will stay stocked with common consumables and chemicals. You will have bright LED lighting and air conditioning. You will only be required to work weekdays with major holidays off, paid. And you will have ample PTO, 2 weeks in your first year. You will be provided access to multiple top tier aftermarket scan tools as well as OE tooling for our most commonly seen makes. Also, you will have access to shop provided diagnostic equipment: oscilloscopes, pressure testers, cameras, thermal imagers, etc. And, we have a considerable collection of specialty tools for our most commonly seen platforms and purchase additional as needed. You will also be provided a work environment that is organized and systematic to eliminate chaos and let us focus on fixing the car and giving great customer service. In short you will be provided with everything you need from a shop to be successful and have pride in your work.
This is an hourly position with an available bonus. That's right, not flat rate. The pay is $35-$50/hr depending on experience and ability plus considerable bonus opportunities. The skills we value most to get to that $50/hr + bonuses are diagnostic skills. But we are also looking for strong B techs that are ready to learn advanced diagnostic skills in an environment where proper tools, resources, and training are provided.
We currently have 2 technicians that are making approximately $80,000/yr. and 1 technician making approximately $140,000/yr. We also had a long time employee recently retire that was making approximately $90,000/yr. We have a proven track record of being able to support highly paid and highly skilled technicians. And on top of that pay we provide 401K with matching, life insurance at no cost, dental insurance at no cost, long term disability insurance at no cost, and a medical benefit to the employee at no cost.
What we are looking for in our next team member is someone that values quality above all else. If you are the type of technician that always routes the wiring harness back the OE way and restores any broken cable organizers you may fit in here. If you clean up residue from leaks when you repair the leak on the vehicle, if you make sure to perform a comprehensive inspection so that you can recommend a thorough and complete job, if comebacks drive you crazy, if you are willing to admit your mistakes and create systems to ensure you don't make the same mistake again, if you are always looking for a more efficient way to get your work done, if you are always trying to get better, then this would be a good home for you.
However, I don't want to mislead you. We do value speed of service. We aim to get our customers back on the road as fast as possible while providing a quality repair. We believe in hitting our deadlines and exceeding the customers' expectations. So if you are looking for a laid back hourly shop where you can take your time, I'm afraid this isn't that. We want a high producer of quality work that values the security of hourly pay and will take advantage of bonus opportunities.
Our hiring process includes a 20-30 minute phone interview, a 60-90 minute in person interview, reference checks, and a background check. You must have a valid Florida driver's license if you have lived here longer than 6 months. If you do not have a valid Florida license or a valid license from the state you moved from less than 6 months ago you will not be considered for this position. If you do not have at least 3 years of experience in a professional repair shop as a technician you will not be considered for this position. Being a professional automotive technician is a very technical field, hobby/DIY or small fleet experience will not be considered adequate professional experience.
